The View Out My Window

I’m looking out the window of my room this morning.

Man, it needs to be cleaned.

I was using this quiet time to do a little reflection, a little meditation.

I began to wonder if that dirty window was somehow a metaphor for my life, my mind, my worldview at the moment.

I wondered if I was being told that, in order to see the beauty beyond what was right in front of me, I needed to clean off what was clouding the view of the “lens” I use to see with; be that my mindset, my priorities, my prejudices, my vices.

Then I began to wonder if I wasn’t supposed to see the beauty in things beyond what was right in front of me in spite of what may be clouding the view.

After all . . . the view is still there.  It just depends on your focus.
